A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO & FOUNDER: WELCOME TO EVERY
Seven years ago, I booked a one way ticket to San Francisco. I had no job and no place to stay. But I knew that I was going to dedicate my life to fixing food—or at least give it my best shot. Why? Because the more I learned about our food system and its reliance on industrialized animal agriculture, the more shocked, upset and eager I became.
I had no idea animal agriculture is the world’s leading cause of:
And is directly responsible for:
- More greenhouse gas emissions than the entire transportation sector
- 3/4 of the world’s agricultural land
- 1/3 of the world’s freshwater pollution
- The slaughter of more than 70 billion animals annually, the vast majority of whom will never see the sun or walk on grass
And by eating animal products, I was directly contributing to this.
Once I knew better, I tried to eat better. And I failed miserably. I grew up on the Texas-Mexico border and as I started looking for animal-free foods, I was met with the grim reality of a deeply broken food system. Why was it so hard to do the right thing? Why was a burger so much cheaper and tastier than a salad? Why did it feel like I always had to choose between my taste buds and my health? Between my culture and my conscience? Between my wallet and my values? Between convenience and the planet?
CHANGE THE PARADIGM
I knew that in order to solve this problem, I needed to find a way to make it easier for people all over the world to eat better. To meet people exactly where they’re at. But how? How could we create proteins that meet, and even surpass, the animal proteins we know and love today? How can we make the transition to an animal-free food system delicious, exciting, and inspiring? How could we use the most cutting-edge technologies to go beyond plants versus animals and chart a new path?

This quest for uncompromised food guided my seven year journey to build a means for enabling a better food system. A food system that creates vital ingredients built for the 21st century and beyond—starting with one of the most versatile and ubiquitous ingredients of all, the egg.

Proteins made by EVERY must meet the highest standards every time in terms of taste, texture and functionality. Our proteins are real, nature-equivalent animal proteins (not plant-based or cell-based) made without using a single animal. The ability of precision fermentation technology to replace the proteins of today is still in its infancy.
